THE Lulu - Fixed Blade Knife

Designed in Utah and manufactured in Michigan - this is our first ever Made in the USA knife - The Lulu. Did we mention it's a fixed blade?

The Lulu line has been our ode to American manufacturing. We sourced and created as much as we could here in the US, down to the sticker on the box, only to find out the FTC has some pretty tight regulations. So we are calling this USA Made of Domestic and Foreign parts.

Perhaps our favorite homegrown ingredient is the CPM MagnaCut blade steel. This stuff is ultra-high-performance and features a super tough scandi grind to help with everything the wilderness has to throw at you.

And for the kicker Ben himself flew all the way to the Colombian Amazon to put the Lulu through its paces. The details are on the blog, but let's just say she didn't disappoint.

Who is Lulu? That's tough to say definitively, but this Lulu is named after a favorite mountain pass in Southern Montana. Who was that pass named after? That's a different story for another time.

KNAFS made a bushcraft knife...Um, YES PLEASE! This knife has performed flawlessly for everything I've thrown at it since its release and it remains one of my go-to's, despite having hundreds of other field knives.

Awesome little fixed blade for any sort of around the camp tasks. The Lulu will make a permanent camp companion whenever you go out adventuring. Plus, it makes an awesome little EDC fixed blade, at least for me. Highly recommend!

USA MADE

The Lulu is our first ever attempt at a USA-Made knife—and we’re dang proud of it. Designed in Utah, made in Michigan, and forged from American steel, this fixed blade is our bold stab at American manufacturing. Even the sticker on the box is red, white, and brewed in the U.S. of A.

In today’s global market, calling anything “Made in the USA” is a tricky line to toe. So while we tried to use USA materials and manufacturers, legally we have to claim USA Made of Domestic and Foreign Parts. But metaphorically we claim the Lulu as American made.

And the name? Lulu is a nod to a beloved mountain pass in Southern Montana, a place that inspired adventure and the spirit behind this knife.

So throw your pack on, raise your Lulu high, and give that star-spangled banner a little wave.

CPM MagnaCut Steel + Scandi Grind

The Lulu boasts the CPM MagnaCut blade. This steel is made in the USA and is the brainchild of mad steel scientist Larrin Thomas. It is one of the best balanced stainless steels out there and that is why we chose it for the Lulu. Seriously this stuff rocks!

To match that tough-as-nails MagnaCut, we gave this beauty a Scandi grind. We set out to make a legit bushcraft camping knife, and so a Scandi is the way. But let’s be real: our first prototype? Total crash-and-burn. The edge chipped out fast—in MagnaCut, no less! So we put a microbevel on it. A tiny tweak with a huge payoff. It protects the edge and lets the grind and steel team up like they were meant to, and suddenly… boom. Magic. Near perfection in your hand.

Contoured Micarta Handle

The handle is nice and neutral—no forced grips, no awkward hand gymnastics. Just a solid, contoured shape that feels right no matter how you hold it, left or right. We went back and forth during development: go flat for lighter carry? Or round it out for real comfort during those long, zen-like whittling sessions? Function won. We rounded it.

We also went with micarta because, honestly, we’re suckers for how it wears—that used-but-loved patina— and it stays grippy even when wet. Bonus points: red G10 liners that pop under the green micarta like a vintage Coleman stove. Nostalgia never looked so good.
