Someone asked me the other day why we keep expanding the Lander line. My response was something to the effect of, “Bakers gonna’ bake. Makers gonna’ make. Designers gonna’ design.” This is what I do professionally, and the new ideas never let me rest. Humans continue planning Moon adventures because it’s there. The Lander 4 is like that. I sat there looking at the Lander line, and I couldn’t help but ask, “What’s missing here? What's next?” An EDC fixie was an obvious choice. Make it pocketable. Interesting. Fun. Non-aggressive.

Sheepsfoot Blade

The Lander 4 "Black Sheep" features black micarta scales (more on that in a minute) and a Sheepsfoot Blade shape. Hence the name: "Black Sheep". Don't let the name fool ya, though, this is definitely not the outcast of the Lander lineup. We love a good sheepsfoot blade around here for cutting and slicing tasks when a pronounced tip isn't a necessity. This bad boy will be a great EDC companion when cutting up food, opening boxes (let's not lie, it's probably another knife in that box), or whatever else your everyday endeavors bring.

Black Micarta

Micarta is a popular handle material because it is a fabric that is incredibly strong, lightweight, wears well, and is durable. It has many applications in industries with no room for errors -- like on the brake systems of airplanes, or in x-ray machines. Micarta can handle high heat and rough elements, and is a scale material that performs well even after it's wet. If you're using your knife in a setting that is going to get messy, micarta gives you a steady grip for the entire task. Then we went and gave it this black color for a black-ops vibe.

S35VN Steel

S35VN has been widely adopted as a common steel by a multitude of knife brands because it’s well-balanced. It does a great job at resisting corrosion, it’s tough and abrasion-resistant, and it holds a good edge. It’s also easy to sharpen.
